Sustainable Honeybees is changing it's focus from queen/nuc production to breeding/education. Therefore we are having a sale to permanently reduce our inventory of nucleus colonies. This is a great opportunity to obtain your own nucleus hardware along with colonies to over winter that can be used to replace winter losses, expand your bee yard or generate income if you find you don't need them in the spring. It is also the best way to requeen fall colonies and supplement weak colonies that may struggle to make it through the winter.

Ordering Information

Each nucleus unit will consist of a 2010 marked queen, bees in one or two medium boxes, bottom board, outer cover (prepared to accept inverted jar feeder) and candy shim feeder. We will have a limited number of empty medium nuc boxes for sale to those who buy single medium nucs and want to use their own frames for the second box for wintering. All the equipment is used but very serviceable. The order units and prices are as follows:

Single (5 frame) medium nucleus on single screened bottom board: $100.00

(This is ONE nuc) Note: If you order two singles (or multiples of two) they may come on a custom double screened stand which is a unified stand/bottom board.

-extra medium box $8.00

Double (2x5frame) medium nucleus on single screened bottom board: $125.00

(this is ONE nuc). Note: If you order two doubles that is a Double Twin.

Double Twin (2x Double medium on a custom double stand) $250.00

(This is TWO nucs on the custom double stand which is a unified stand/bottom board)

These colonies will be available to pickup on Friday, August 27 from 1-4 pm or Saturday, August 28 from 10 am to 1 pm. All sales will be on a first come basis.

Payments will be C.O.D. cash or check on day of pickup.
